Reviews

What’s the worst thing that can happen after you pick up a new book? We know how it feels when you pick up a book and wish you hadn’t. We save you the stress, horror, and disappointment with our reviews. We have done the hard work, or rather, the hard part. We have taken the time to read many urban fantasy and sci-fi novels, and we know which ones were great and which weren’t.

We know about all the trending and most exciting tropes in the genre. For urban fantasy, most readers love tropes surrounding undead zombies, vampires, druids, demons, magic, and witchcraft. So, while reading, we check what tropes the book includes and if it’s one of the most loved tropes. But what if you like weird tropes?

Some books might be around less-loved tropes. But when they are hyped, there is a big chance there’s something to see there. We want to know whether or not the books live up to the hype before you pick them up to read.

If it does, our reviews will tell you, and if it doesn’t, we’ll warn you with our review to know why it isn’t rated with a 5 stars.

We look for three essential elements to know whether a book is great or not so great.

The plot

The Plot is the driver of the story, and for every sci-fi or urban fantasy book, the need for a captivating plot is important. We look for what magic systems are incorporated into the Plot of an urban fantasy book and what the quest or the story is about. We also consider the nemesis and its complexities.

The characters

The second is the characters and how complex the casting was. We check to see if any part of them is human, which is how you can connect to them. The more the character feels real, the more likely we will rate the book as a must-read.

How the Story is Told?

Worldbuilding, POVs, exposition insertion — all of these are things that we also pay attention to. Instead of allowing you to find these things out by yourself, we take out the time to look for what book memorably tells the story.

Writers

Another section of our blog focuses on the book’s writers, their lives, updates, and even their next series. At UnboundBlogZine, we are your inner eye into the world of fantasy books and novels. Whether for short stories or novels, we are the blog for you!
